Our Story

Family owned and operated since 1978, when Chuck received 2 hives as a gift; shortly after he met Karen, his wife, whom with he has worked hand in hand to build a true Bee Empire… talking with Chuck, he’ll tell you stories of he and Karen working 16+ hour days, sleeping in their very old, but semi-reliable freightliner (one which didn’t have heat nor air conditioning, and barely had a passenger door) for a few hours only to get up at night, load bees and drive miles and miles to their destination; then do it all over again the following day.. season after season. Chuck wont tell you, but Karen will, about the times they got stuck in fields, calling tow trucks asking “do you have a 200 foot tow strap?” while being surrounded by hundreds of bees robbing the honey from the supers they had just spent hours pulling and loading by hand.

Chuck will tell you he’s been a beekeeper for 50 years and still can’t tell what will happen with his bees.. but all who know him know differently; because listening to Chuck talk bees is like reading an encyclopedia.. you tell him “as soon as I opened my hive I smelled sweaty feet”, most would assume disease. He’ll laugh and say “oh yeah that’s the goldenrod coming in” reassuring newBEE beekeepers they’re doing just fine.

After 30+ years of seeing how big Kutik’s had grown, they wanted to ensure efficiency and great customer service as well as making sure their legacy continued well after they were done beekeeping. In 2009, they welcomed Octavio and Sonia, now partners, whom have dedicated 15+ years to the growth and success of Kutik’s. What was once solely ‘Kutiks’ has turned into 4 very well established and thriving entities:

• Kutik’s Everything Bees, LLC (Retail store)

• Kutik’s Honey Farm, LLC (Packing/ wholesale honey)

• Kutik’s Nucs and Queens, LLC (Nucs and Queen sales)

• Kutik’s Pollination Services, LLC (Pollination from coast to coast)

With the continued hard work, dedication and guidance of Chuck, Karen, Octavio and Sonia, Kutiks has grown to be the largest apiary on the North East, running 18,000 colonies; producing/selling 80k+ queens, selling 10k+ Nucs a year. Pollinating crops up and down the East coast as well as sending bees west for Almond pollination. Producing 900k+ pounds of honey to be processed and sold on retail and wholesale levels. And establishing a one-stop shop for everything bees; from retail nuc/queen sales, honey, bee products, education and much much more.. Chuck and Karen have truly built and continue to grow a legacy which will be known for generations to come..
