Candle Making

Greg Rutler is a second generation chandler. Having learned the art of candle making from his father, Greg understands the art of candle making better than most. This fun, hands-on introductory class will give you everything you need to begin a rich, rewarding life with candles.

Class will be held September 21, 1pm to 3pm. The class cost is $35. Each student will leave with candles made during the class. The class will be held at 3442 ST HWY 12, Oxford, NY.

Bob Talkiewicz is bringing his EAS mead making presentation to Kutik’s Everything Bees, and we are pumped. Learn the ins-and-outs of mead making, what gear to buy and what gear to avoid, as well as a litany of other mead-making considerations. Honey Bees and Their Maladies

On Thursday July 18th from 5-7PM we will open a hive, inspect for mites and discuss in the classroom varroa and other honey bee maladies. Classes are capped at 10 students to ensure you have the attention necessary for hands-on learning.

For the classroom portion of the session, we will go over several of the most common honey bee maladies found in Upstate New York. We will learn how to identify said maladies and how to treat the problem in real time.

Please bring your honey bee protective gear. Hive tools and smokers will be provided for class use by Kutik’s.

Class cost is $40

Inside a Honey Bee Hive

Inside a Honey Bee Hive

We will discuss what to consider before opening a hive, and we will go over what to look for once you’re inside the hive. We will learn how to assess a hive and how to take notes for your record keeping. This hands-on class will be capped at 10 people to ensure our students receive ample one-on-one attention. This class is appropriate for beginning and intermediate beekeepers.

Class cost is $20

Please bring your own honey bee protective gear. Hive tools and smokers will be provided for the duration of course.
